    Getting Old means having to learn what glucosamine is and why you have to take it twice a day.

    I have seen many people (including the creators) talk in hand-wavy terms about how the restricted size of Twitter messages forces people to consider the economy of communication before they post. I disagree. It doesn't force more efficient communication, it forces the bulk of people to use more abbreviations and invent esoteric words. Forcing people to invent words and rely on acronyms to communicate does not imply more efficient communication, it implies an overly restrictive format and framework.

    Dear Greenlite:

    Thank you for trying to burn down my house with your energy efficient LED nightlight, model T18, with integrated light sensor. It makes all the difference knowing that prior to this product trying to catch fire it was using a meager 0.3W.

    I am looking forward to seeing how the other units will fail.

     

  • Open Web Server gets an update!

    It looks like Sun is actually updating the code for Open Web Server! Hooray!

    The original release, Open Web Server 1.0, was derived from Sun Web Server 7.0 Update 3. With the most recent update Sun has merged the bug fixes and enhancements from Sun Web Server 7.0 update 4 and Update 5 into Open Web Server. Yay!

    Last weekend we hosted our annual party at Lake Berryessa. Good times were had by all. Massive amounts of food and drink were had. Movies were projected on fences. Social mingling was accomplished. A field-trip to the lake shore was undertaken.

    Alexandria took the opportunity to do two quick water color paintings of the Lake Berryessa shore:
